Everything you need to know about the Black Horse Half
INTRODUCING THE BLACK HORSE HALF
The Black Horse Half is an exciting new running event coming to the Black Horse Road area of North East London. Hundreds of entry level and intermediate runners are expected to take to the start line near Big Penny Social on 5 October 2025.
COURSE
Our flat, two lap 13.1 mile course is perfect for runners who are taking on the half marathon distance for the first time. The course is well marked by mile and kilometer signage, making pacing easy. A course map will be released closer to the event.
COMMUNITY
This event was born out of a love for our local area and community. Tottenham Marshes and Walthamstow Wetlands offer a picturesque backdrop whilst Big Penny Social brings the Post-Run Party vibes with food and drink.
VENUE
Couldn’t organise a half marathon in a brewery…or could they? We have – and it’s only the best damn brewery in the capital. Big Penny Social is a pub, an art centre and a town square all rolled into one. Just what you need after your amazing achievement. Find out more here.
POST RACE GOODIES
All runners will receive professional chip timing and a souvenir medal to commemorate their amazing achievement. There will be more details on post race goodies provided by our partners and sponsors – stay tuned!

Our team are working hard to establish precise timings for the event. Provisional plans expect the first wave to go off at 08:30 and the last wave around 09:00.
The startline is just 18 minutes on the Victoria Line from Oxford Circus.
